Sunsets of the Pandemic
Sunsets from Edmonds WA in the time of Covid
A direct action charity dedicated to supporting Edmonds Food Bank and other Edmonds Charities
(in case you were wondering)
Hello and thanks for visiting. If you are looking for an archive of photographs please visit the blog, tap on the word blog at the top of the page. Do to a catastrophic event by WIX a good six months of my photos are missing. I tried to get some help from them but they don't answer. They do send me surveys asking how well they did! I decided to sail on. I still have the photos just not here. If you need a specific date let me know! Tap on the day and all the photos of that day will appear! Sunsets of the Pandemic ( a direct action charity) is a simple answer to raising morale in Edmonds WA. Its purpose was and is to capture the sunset along the town's waterfront in photos and share them with whoever wanted to see them. The photos get posted nightly on this page and the Nextdoor app. It is mostly a one man operation, but most times I have some help from the world famous photographer Daniela, and renowned Pacific Northwest Adventurer and visual artist Ettie Matza. The photos are available in electronic format and sometimes prints. They are free for the asking. It is encouraged to make a donation to our local food bank. It is not a requirement.
Ok, it is obvious I like trains. Trains and sunsets go together like peas and carrots. Edmonds has the best of both worlds! Did I mention ferry boats? Edmonds has great ferry boats!

It is all about trains!
Team Sunsets
Our team
Currently the team consist of me, photographer / printer and my crusty parrot Little John. Sometime I get a helping hand from my good friend Daniela Mihali who is a world class and internationally known photographer who stopped by one day and said "hello" and has been an active participant in Team Sunset operations ever since. More recently renowned Pacific Northwest Adventurer and visual artist Etti Matza has been shooting for Team Sunset.
.I have been a resident of Edmonds for 18 years. It isn't a long time but longer than I have lived anywhere. I retired from 30 years of service in the United States Coast Guard. I suffered a stroke in December of 2019. I found that I could walk just far enough to reach the set of benches on Sunset. I would walk there and one day I started taking photographs. I truly enjoy doing this and hope you all enjoy them. It is something I can do and contribute to a better community. I am gratified that so many people liked them and so many photos have found their way into so many peoples homes.
I am a member of

My wife Sheryl is a remarkable woman often seen marching about town in her purple parka.

My walker, the Trionic Veloped
"The Black Duck" named after a fictional 1920s rum runner. It brings out the romantic in me.
Ways to Help
Make a donation
If you like a photo or a bunch of them, let me know and we can make an arrangement to get it to you. When I say make a donation I don't mean to me. I mean directly to the food bank or your choice. Or not.
I do not collect money. I take photos and dispense good will.
Times are rough and times are hard so if you want prints I will gratefully accept printer paper and ink if offered but not a requirement.
